The equity financing was led by SEB Private Equity \u2013 which is also the company\u2019s largest owner \u2013 and Exor Capital. In addition, several of Matsmart\u2019s other existing owners participated in the new share issue, among them Gullsp\u00e5ng Re:Food Invest and Blume Equity. The raised capital will be used to accelerate growth in Europe\u2019s largest markets but also to improve e-commerce\u2019s customer offer and experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matsmart-Motatos is a European food e-commerce and impact company. The company contributes to a sustainable reform of the global food system with a business model that aligns with the global sustainability goal 12.3: that the world\u2019s food waste should be halved by the year 2030. Today, Matsmart-Motatos is on the Financial Times list of Europe\u2019s fastest growing companies and is established in five European markets. At Matsmart-Motatos, consumers can buy food and consumer products that would otherwise have been at risk of being thrown away, due to, for example, excess production, short dates or seasonal variations.
