Setterwalls continues to strengthen its infrastructure and construction practice by recruiting Joachim Hagen Pikwer. With many years experience at Skanska, Joachim boosts the firm’s expertise in construction and property law, as well as project financing. From October 1, Joachim will work from the Stockholm office.

–  Joachim Hagen Pikwer is a welcome addition to our strong and growing infrastructure and construction group. Joachim will complement us very well, especially considering his solid background in two of Sweden’s leading companies in their fields, says Joakim Edoff, CEO for Setterwalls.

Joachim Hagen Pikwer comes to us from a two year project as General Counsel at IKEA developing a legal department and corporate governance procedures for the company’s businesses in Russian speaking countries. Prior to that, he worked for eight years as in-house counsel at Skanska – a leading international construction player – and at Advokatfirman Hammarskiöld & Co in banking and finance. At both IKEA and Skanska, Joachim was senior negotiator on international and Swedish projects.

– Setterwalls has one of the market’s strongest groups in infrastructure investments and construction. My Swedish and international experience will be very useful here and I’m really looking forward to starting work at Setterwalls, says Joachim Hagen Pikwer.

The importance and complexity of infrastructure is growing. Sweden is facing a number of large investments in roads and railways. Parliament passed a new planning act earlier this year. Setterwalls anticipates a greater number of increasingly complex assignments in the area and are preparing to meet clients’ needs on a growing market. Joachim is the second strategic recruitment in the construction field this year. Erik Palmgren was recruited this spring from NCC.

Setterwalls’ extensive knowledge and familiarity with the industry underpin Setterwalls’ advice on construction projects and construction contracts. Setterwalls’ advises public and private bodies, contractors, financiers and consultants in conjunction with all types of construction and infrastructure project. Setterwalls’ specialists assist in the planning, procurement, completion and follow-up of construction projects. Setterwalls is also fully briefed on the law and commercial aspects of private and PPP projects. Setterwalls’ specialists have extensive experience of construction-related disputes in courts and arbitral tribunals.
