Top SAS lawyer and new business development role to strengthen Setterwalls

Erik Hellners is yet another SAS lawyer to join Setterwalls. Erik will be strengthening the EU & Competition and the Aviation practice groups. His recruitment reflects an increasing demand for advice in these areas. In addition, Marie Öhrström comes on board as Business Development Lawyer. She joins us directly from the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce where she was vice secretary general.

Eric’s long and extensive experience from SAS provides a tremendous boost for Setterwalls, says Setterwalls CEO Joakim Edoff, who continues:

– We are pleased to be able to introduce the entirely new position of Business Development Lawyer, to which Marie Örhström has been appointed. Marie works in the Dispute Resolution and IP/Tech practice groups and will combine the traditional role of associate lawyer with business development, both in respect of market and business intelligence. Marie will form a valuable link between lawyers and the marketing department. Marie is one of Sweden’s foremost experts in institutional arbitration law and the author of a much acclaimed work on the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and arbitral proceedings.

Erik Hellners, 45, comes to us directly from SAS where he has worked for the past ten years as in-house counsel with a particular focus on competition law, M&A and the strategic and general commercial business of SAS. Erik was also secretary of the Core SAS management group. Prior to that, Erik was at White &Case in Stockholm and Van Bael & Bellis in Brussels.

Marie Öhrström, 36, comes to us directly from the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce where she was case officer (2000–05) and vice secretary general (2005–09). She was previously an associate at Vinge and has augmented her law degree with studies in marketing at RMI Berghs.
