As part of Setterwalls’ strategic focus to invest in the expansion in the areas of environment, real estate/construction and infrastructure, we are pleased to welcome our new additions; Partner Malin Wikström and Specialist Counsel Erik Svedlund to the Gothenburg office.

Malin Wikström is a recognized skilled and experienced environmental lawyer with almost 20 years of practice in both extensive and complex assignments in the field. Environment and infrastructure are two expansive and rapidly growing legal areas. With Malin’s vast experience of, among other things, extensive infrastructure trials, she will, with her knowledge and capacity, be a welcome and valuable addition at a time of significant infrastructure investments throughout the country.

“I am really looking forward to joining Setterwalls as Partner and being involved in the continued development of Setterwalls as a market leader within environmental law in Sweden. The need for advice has increased significantly over the past decade and Setterwalls’ team can provide advice throughout this legal area. I am also really looking forward to leading and developing the environmental law team in Gothenburg and in Sweden together with partner and Linnea Ljung,” says Malin Wikström.

Erik Svedlund has a solid knowledge and many years of experience in providing strategic advice to companies relating to real estate and construction issues. Before joining Setterwalls, Erik has spent the last nine years developing his specialist expertise in the field at Magnusson Law Firm. Erik is primarily involved in assignments concerning the acquisition and sale of properties, contract negotiations as well as development and land instruction matters. He also has extensive experience in construction and real estate disputes before arbitration tribunals and courts.

“It is of course flattering to have the opportunity to strengthen Setterwalls’ real estate team and to be responsible for the group’s construction team in Gothenburg. At Setter-walls, there is an entrepreneurial spirit and ambition that fits well with my own. Together we will continue to create an industry-leading real estate and construction team covering all relevant areas. The investment is also well in time, given the challenges and opportunities that the real estate and construction sector faces, not least in terms of infrastructure investments,” says Erik. “I am convinced that Setterwalls’ combination of commitment, first-class advice and long-term thinking meets both current and future market needs,” concludes Erik Svedlund.

“For Setterwalls, investing further in the areas of environment, real estate/construction and infrastructure is a long-term and strategic decision. The recruitment of Malin and Erik is part of this initiative. We see that the need for legal advice is growing in these areas within the context of the increasing environmental awareness and  large-scale investments in expansions and infrastructure that is taking place in large parts of the country. Setterwalls therefore further strengthens its organization with Malin and Erik. Through their extensive experience of assignments and projects in these areas, they are very much in line with Setterwalls’ stated profile and strategy,” says Minna Skyman, CEO of Setterwalls in Gothenburg.
