Jessica Schönning
Partner, Member of the Swedish Bar AssociationProfile
For more than 15 years, I have assisted companies and public actors with advice within real estate law, focusing in particular on commercial leasehold.
I have extensive experience in negotiating and drawing up complex lease agreements for clients in the real estate sector.
My responsibility at the firm is to lead Setterwalls’ real estate team in Stockholm. In my daily work, I help companies and public actors to negotiate and draw up property-related agreements, with focus on commercial leasehold. I have special experience of early stage lease agreements and negotiation of evacuation of tenants. I also work within other areas of real estate law, such as planning and construction law issues, title issues and issues relating to land leasehold, commonhold facilities and easements and covenants, etc. I also have experience of working with both Swedish and international acquisitions, in particular of advice relating to the transfer of real estate. I also manage dispute resolution within real estate law.
Several large real estate owners in Sweden give me assignments, and I assist them on an ongoing basis with legal advice and in court proceedings.
I also lecture in commercial leasehold law and I am a member of the ICC’s sustainability committee.
