Setterwalls recruits Moritz Veller and sets up German Desk
The recruitment of Moritz Veller, who is a dual qualified Swedish/German lawyer specialising principally in M&A, enables Setterwalls to strengthen its offering in international business law – not least in German-Swedish trade. Moritz Veller has worked in international law firms in both Sweden and Germany for several years and comes to us now from Cederquist law firm.
Setterwalls is one of Sweden’s leading full-service, business law firms with a distinct focus on cross-border business and transactions. A significant number of our instructions originate in other countries.
- In recruiting Moritz Veller we refine our offering in international business law and position ourselves even more clearly as one of the foremost advisors for German-Swedish commerce, says Joakim Edoff, CEO of Setterwalls. I look forward to developing the firm’s business together with Moritz Veller and establishing a German Desk providing tailored advice and a clear commercial benefit for our clients.
- In increasingly tough competition for instructions, we have continued to grow and gain market share. There is a large demand for our services in transactional law, says Anders Söderlind, head of Setterwalls’ M&A group. In recruiting Moritz Veller we clarify our role as pro-active advisor and strengthen our capacity in respect of German clients.
- German clients, not least the large German industrial companies, require increasingly comprehensive advice in a broad spectrum of specialist legal fields, says Moritz Veller, who will be responsible for Setterwalls’ new German Desk. That is something we can deliver at Setterwalls, which is a full-service firm encompassing the entire span of business law. Together with our ability to explain the differences between Swedish and German law and business culture, we can therefore deliver tailored solutions for our clients in cross-border transactions.
Setterwalls is one of Sweden’s largest law firms with a workforce of 260, of whom 190 are lawyers. Setterwalls has experienced specialists in all fields of business law and a solid background in the majority of industries. Corporate law and M&A are Setterwalls’ largest practice areas and involve 60 lawyers, who represent multinational groups as well as smaller companies and investment banks and venture capital companies.
