New student housing in Malmö – Setterwalls has assisted Skandia Fastigheter in the divestment of real property in Västra Hamnen to an international actor

A company within the Skandia Fastigheter group has divested the real property Malmö Tåten 1 to BC Student Malmö AB, a company within the BaseCamp Student group. The property is located in the Masthusen district in Västra Hamnen, Malmö. The transaction was carried out through divestment of the shares in the property owning company.

BaseCamp is planning to build app. 640 student apartments on the real property, which will increase Malmö’s student housing with app. 30 percent. The apartments are expected to be completed in 2022. In the Masthusen district, Skandia Fastigheter has developed offices, shopping, housing and public services and Masthusen district is the first sustainability certified district in Sweden. Through the divestment to BaseCamp Student, the dis-trict will be complemented with student housing.

Skandia Fastigheter is part of Skandia Liv and owns 127 real properties, mainly in and around Sweden’s three largest cities with a combined market value of app. SEK 57 billion. BaseCamp Student is a student housing concept focusing on comfort and community and currently has, or is planning to construct, more than 9,600 student apartments in Scandi-navia, Poland and Germany.
