Setterwalls has assisted Hemberget Energi AB in the environmental permit proceeding for a new wind farm

Setterwalls’ team, consisting of Tove Andersson and Jonathan Andersson, has successfully assisted Hemberget Energi AB in the permit process for the construction of wind power in Storuman and Vilhelmina municipalities.

Hemberget Energi AB, a subsidiary of Ownpower Projects AB, has applied for an environmental permit. The application was rejected by the County Administrative Board and the Land and Environment Court. The case addresses key land use issues and questions regarding the impact on reindeer husbandry.

In the judgment of September 4 2019, the Land and Environment Court of Appeal set aside the lower courts’ decisions and declared it permissible to erect 81 WTGs with a total height of 200 meters. The County Administrative Board now has to grant permits with the necessary conditions.
