Setterwalls has assisted Triventus Wind Power AB to obtain an environmental permit for a new wind farm

Setterwalls team, consisting of Tove Andersson and Jakob Ekesbo, has successfully assisted Triventus Wind Power AB in the permit process for the construction of 24 wind turbines in Bjurholm municipality.

In 2015, Triventus Wind Power AB  applied for and obtained an environmental permit by the Permit Office at the County Administrative Board for construction and operation of 24 wind turbines, each of 180 meters. In 2017, the Land and Environment Court reversed the permit and remanded the matter for supplementation regarding the impact on the interests of reindeer husbandry. In 2018, the County Administrative Board again granted a permit subject to supplementary conditions to protect reindeer husbandry. Following appeals, the Land and Environment Court on August 27, 2019 affirmed the permit with the addition of a condition for the operations. 

The case concerns a so called “box permit” and has addressed questions about both cumulative effects and the detailed design of protective measures regarding reindeer husbandry.
