Distinction conferred upon Setterwalls in Gothenburg

At the inauguration of Setterwalls’ new offices in Gothenburg, Business Region Göteborg AB conferred a distinction in the shape of a key. The key is presented to companies that make particular contributions to the economy of the Gothenburg region, so called key companies.

“Setterwalls and Business Region Göteborg share a common interest in attracting new companies and fresh competence, a strong economy with strong companies, increased employment – in short regional growth – where Setterwalls is an important link that assists and supports existing and new companies with qualified advisory services and commitment. Setterwalls establishment in the Hasselbladshuset also contributes to strengthen the city of Gothenburg, which is part of the growth strategies of the Gothenburg region.”

The key to the ”Original-Gothenburg”
Gothenburg was founded in 1621. However, the city was not the first stronghold for the Geats that sought a gateway to the sea in the west. One of its predecessors, Nya Lödöse, can now be found within the limits of Gothenburg as the district known as Gamlestaden.

Nya Lödöse was granted its first charters in 1473. At archaeological investigations in1965, an iron key, approximately 25 centimetres in length, was found. It showed traces of gilding. It might have been the official city key, the archaeologists say. The original key belongs to the historical museum of Gothenburg.

Business Region Göteborg
Business Region Göteborg AB (BRG) is a wholly-owned, non-profit-making subsidiary of Göteborgs Kommunala Förvaltnings AB, which in its turn is wholly-owned by the City of Gothenburg. BRG works for increased growth and employment in the Gothenburg region. The company assists existing as well as newly established companies with their ambitions to grow.
