Setterwalls in Gothenburg has appointed lawyers Linnea Ljung and Bo Berndtsson as new partners at the firm’s Gothenburg office. Setterwalls thus strengthens its position and capacity as a market leader in the areas of Environmental and Energy law as well as within Compliance & Investigations.

Linnea Ljung joined the firm in May 2018. Before joining Setterwalls, Linnea worked with environmental law at Mannheimer Swartling’s Gothenburg office for ten years. She has also worked in Brussels with monitoring EU environmental law.

“I am very happy and excited to join as partner and to contribute to the firm’s continued development. Our society faces several environmental challenges that require change in many aspects. Companies’ need for environmental advice will therefore increase”, says Linnea Ljung.

Linnea adds, “I am proud to head a market-leading environmental law team that can assist with advice throughout the entire field of environmental and energy law together with my fellow partners at Setterwalls”.

Bo Berndtsson joined Setterwalls in January this year. Prior to that, he was Chief Compliance Officer at AB Volvo for nine years with responsibility for building and running the Volvo Group’s activities and compliance programs relating to anti-corruption, competition law and sanctions legislation, as well as the Volvo Group’s extensive project to comply with the new data protection legislation, GDPR. About his new assignment, Bo says:

“I am happy and humbled by becoming a partner and having the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s development. We see strong development and great opportunities going forward within Compliance & Investigations. I look forward to leading the work of developing this business successfully in the coming years.
We see increased demands in terms of anti-corruption work, anti-money laundering, corporate crimes, etc. and there will clearly be an increasing need in the business community for advice on these issues going forward.

“We will continue to develop the firm and our strong offer to meet this growing need”, Bo concludes.

– As society’s awareness and demands increase in these two areas, Setterwalls also sees an increased demand for legal advice. We are therefore both proud and happy to strengthen our partner organization with Linnea and Bo, which with their knowledge and experience will be a valuable addition, not only for the Gothenburg office but for the whole of Setterwalls, says Min-na Skyman, CEO Setterwalls in Gothenburg.
