Setterwalls has advised Trelleborg AB in its divestment of real property in Trelleborg

Setterwalls has advised Trelleborg AB in its divestment of several real properties to Trelleborg Municipality. The real properties are located in central and eastern Trelleborg. The acquisition is the largest acquisition that Trelleborg Municipality has done and the purchase price amounts to 228.5 million SEK.

The real properties, consisting mainly of office and industrial premises, were prior to the transaction used to a limited extent by Trelleborg AB. For Trelleborg Municipality, the real properties are strategically important in the future development of the city. The acquisition provides Trelleborg Municipality with a possibility to control the development of the city based on long-term growth targets and city planning.Through the divestment, the Trelleborg Group continues to contribute to the development of the city of Trelleborg.

The real properties located in central Trelleborg are currently being used as office premises as well as a larger industrial premise. In the municipality’s comprehensive plan, the area has been pointed out as a possible area for city development.

For the real property in the eastern area of Trelleborg, the municipality is planning to develop Trelleborg Business Center, which is a part of the extensive city development project Kuststad 2025. The real property has been designated as a future logistics center by the municipality.

The transaction is conditioned upon approval by the Municipal Council in Trelleborg, which is expected to take place in March 2021.
