Setterwalls has assisted Småkraft AS in connection with its newly founded Swedish subsidiary Strömfallet Småkraft AB’s acquisition of the Strömfallet and Strömfallet Tunafors hydropower projects

Småkraft is the largest operator of small-scale hydroelectric power plants in Norway and has an extensive portfolio, comprising more than 130 hydropower plants with an annual output of more than 1.4 TWh. The company is owned by long-term funds managed by the German investment fund manager Aquila Capital. APG, a Dutch pension company, is the majority owner of Småkraft. Småkraft has a vision of creating renewable values for future generations, and considers the Swedish market as excellent for using its expertise in a sustainable way. Furthermore, the company considers its establishment in Sweden as a natural step in the already successful and ambitious growth strategy. The projects consist of a total of four operational hydropower plants and are Småkraft’s first acquisitions outside of Norway.
