Tobias is a partner in Setterwalls’ Banking & Finance group.
Tobias specialises in financial regulatory matters and has more than 15 years of experience in legal issues related to financial services. Before joining Setterwalls, he held specialist and managerial roles at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen), giving him a particularly solid understanding of both licensing and supervisory matters affecting financial institutions.
His advisory practice covers financial regulatory issues relevant to regulated firms under the supervision of Finansinspektionen, as well as the markets and infrastructure in which they operate. Tobias has extensive experience in the regulation and supervision of banks and credit institutions, investment firms, insurance companies and insurance intermediaries, and payment service providers.
His background at Finansinspektionen means that Tobias has a practical, business-oriented understanding of how the supervisory authority operates, making him a valued adviser where regulatory expertise and commercial insight need to work hand in hand.
